New Year's Day fell on a Friday in 2016 creating a worldwide 3 day banking holiday adding 3 days to every financial transaction. If you wanted to execute a banking transaction during this time that you would otherwise be lucky enough to complete in 4 days then your total transaction time would be, you guessed it, a week. Doesn't it seem mind boggling that we can send an information message to anyone anywhere in the world 24 hours a day instantaneously with no cost? When we send money using the traditional banking system we could go on vacation for a week and come back home before the transaction is complete.
Are you beginning to see the silliness of our centuries old banking model. I saw it right away as soon as I discovered bitcoin and found the soul searching reason I had been looking for all these years as to why I had such a disdain for banks. (Hey banker friends don't take it personally, even David Andolfatto, Vice-President of the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank said, "Everybody hates banks, even I hate banks.") I can't say how much I was looking forward to New Year's Day weekend as I proceeded to conduct various business transactions using bitcoin all the while with a smile on my face knowing how bitcoin is always there for me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year without friction, fees (essentially feeless right now) or headaches.
I love you bitcoin.
